This evening I mostly chilled out with a book... this book in particular. I should do that more often.
This book was a new one in the library today - it was expected to go onto hold for someone but I guess another copy filled that hold request. So, seeing an author whose work I really enjoy I borrowed it. This one is a YA book whereas the others by this author are nominally Adult. There was a discernable difference - less depth in the plot complexity for one (but no less in the moral complexity). It was also interesting to not certian themes continue to show up in the author's work. Large corporations as an evil force for one. They may not always be this author's driving force for evil, but they're always there. I'm not sure that I particularly have an opinion about this one way or another but it interested me. I don't often read very analytically when I read for pleasure, but I did find myself automatically doing some of this with 'The Last Dragonslayer'. Worth the read if you have a chance!
