Today I did quite a bit of geocaching - not huge numbers, but some pretty good foot-mileage covered. At one point I passed St Francis Xavier Cathedral (actually, there's a geocache concealed in this photograph... somewhere) and saw one of the pianos that are part of the "Play me... I'm yours" event for the Come Out Youth Arts Festival. I passed three during the day. I think it's fantastic - I thought for a while they'd get destroyed by rain - and even I can tell the tuning on this one is a long way out - but they have a plastic cover that should fend off the worst for the few weeks before they are gone again. There are over thirty around the city and suburbs - I passed three today and saw one out at The Parks the other day. It's really interesting watching the public interact with them. Some people just want to prod a few keys, others sit down and play properly... It'd be nice if we could have something like this ALL of the time.
