Jan. 3rd, 2007 04:58 pmHere I am on holiday in Melbourne...
New Year's Eve was great - had a party at our house, first time we've done that. Mum and Dad were in Hong Kong so we had it to ourselves. It was a small party but a great one - for the moment itself we group-crashed another friend's party two doors down who were having an 80's dance party. That was incredibly much fun.
This is my second day in Melbourne... and today I've visited several of the most amazing bookshops I've ever seen. If I win the lottery I'm going to clear out one or two of them... incredible stuff. Finally found a non-business advice version of Sun Tsu's Art of War, among other things. It's got an interesting section with commentary at the back - by other historical figures and leaders rather than some businessman.
We did a lot of wandering too - my feet hurt! It was great though, we kept finding amazing things to see that we never would have otherwise. Getting lost is truly awesome.
Last night we went to a posh restaurant for cheesecake... which was divine. We also went to the aquarium which had Japanese Spider Crabs - they're HUGE. Amy's got a great photo of a diver who appears to have a stingray-hat. I shall show it when I get a chance.
Fantastic trip so far - off to the night markets tonight, and the Melbourne Zoo tomorrow - might even see some relatives :P
Hope everyone is having a brilliant new year!
