I made this prototype of a Christmas card tonight - exterior decorations are very simple, all the time's on the pop-up tree inside. I've found a better template since - if I'm not happy with that I'll make my own up. Then make rather a few of these... and some other designs perhaps.

Template came from here, note the illustrations don't match the template provided with the tutorial, it seems those nice tree shapes are cut using a rather expensive cutting machine and die set.

Anyhow, took a bit of working out some of the finer details but I just love this card. It's still a thrill opening it up and having a 3D Christmas tree right there :D

Here is Barnaby, playing with Uncle Peter's Christmas present. Photo courtesy of Andy, who got a way better shot than mine.

Hope you all had a lot of fun and happiness :D

Merry Christmas - please feel free to substitute an alternative festive greeting

Hope everybody has a wonderful and safe one!

The neighbours have reindeer on their lawn...

Ran around with my camera a bit tonight - must find my twinkle filter and play with that too.

This year's Christmas card stamp (domestic variety)

I really should have sent cards earlier. This is not the first year I've had to tell myself this. Still, if they get in the mail tomorrow at least the ones in Adelaide will make it... ^.^;;

Another thing to make resolutions about, I suppose.

:) I do like ladybugs...

Went to see HP7 part 1 today. Impressive effects and very well done, but as indicated by the part 1... kind of incomplete. I think they chose as good a place as any to end it at least. Six months (or thereabouts) does seem like an awfully long time to wait for the second half of something.

I found another Christmas present too. I've almost finished up the shopping end of that now. I'll feel a lot more relaxed when the crafted bits and pieces are done with, wrapped and in place.

Anyhow. Time for bed. Have to be bright eyed, if not bushy tailed, for work tomorrow. I think if I turned up with a bushy tail it might raise some concerns.

Taking photos of our Christmas lights is kind of difficult as the light levels are different. Try as I might, the stars on the chimney (shown in a photo a few days ago) develop a sun-like quality.

Well, the Christmas lights and Christmas tree are up... Looking rather good I think. For the first time we're ahead of certain neighbours who usually pester us to hurry up. Hehe...

This is one of the outside lights - I took several longer exposure shots of the front of the house that included most of the lights, but this one thing appeared quite sun-like in the middle of the lot of them. This shot (since substantially cropped)was taken with an exposure time I associate with DAYTIME photography. Which is silly.

I've done some crafty things lately but as they're Christmas related I'm not posting them...

Also, some crazy person was outside setting off fireworks during the rain thisafternoon. People are weird.
